This is a replica stone of the Dresden Green Diamond. The original is a rare natural green diamond in a modified pear-shaped brilliant cut with 58 facets. It is named after Dresden, the capital of Saxony, Germany where it has been on display for most of the last two centuries. In 2000, Harry Winston arranged to have the Dresden Green displayed at the New York flagship store and then at the Smithsonian where it was displayed next to the Hope Diamond. Today, the diamond is shown in the “New Green Vault” at the Dresden Castle.
